The gallery is located within the Prattville neighborhood in Chelsea, land long cultivated for farming and, more recently, for communal gardening. After 50 years of active use, the gardens fell into disrepair and was later transformed into a public park. It is no small delight for the gallery to overlook a park. Chelsea itself is a densely populated city, located within a state that is currently a global leader in healthcare, biotechnology, and the sciences.
